After a breakthrough 2016 season that saw her win her second career title in Birmingham, reach the second week at all four majors and finish in the Top 10 for the first time, Madison Keys had more good news - she had reunited with former coach, and former World No.1, Lindsay Davenport, who took the American No.2 to her first Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open two years ago.
There was some bad news, though - she had to kick off her off-season with surgery on her left wrist.
But this week, more than four months since her last tournament at the WTA Finals in Singapore, Keys will make her comeback to the tour at Indian Wells, where she’s the No.9 seed and will open against the winner of a first round match between qualifiers Patricia Maria Tig and Mariana Duque-Marino.
