35-Year-Old Federer Was One of the Best Federers Ever

Today, August 8, is Roger Federer’s 36th birthday - Happy Birthday Roger!

Usually we consider Federer’s career season by season, but we at Tennis Channel thought we’d do something different this time given it’s his birthday - we’re breaking his career down in Federer years, comparing his results at age 35 to age 34, 33 and so on, all the way down to his debut at age 16.

And it turns out 35-year-old Federer was actually one of the best Federers there ever was:
- His winning percentage of .939 was his third-best at any age (after .949 at 23 and .940 at 24).
- His 9-0 record against the Top 10 was his first perfect winning record against the Top 10 at any age.
- He won multiple Grand Slam titles, the first time he’s done that at any age since he was 27.

36-year-old Federer will debut at the Rogers Cup this week - here’s his pre-tournament interview:

You can watch all of the action from Montreal all week right here on Tennis Channel.
