INDIAN WELLS, Calif -- Venus Wiliams is on course to win her first BNP Paribas after a tough three-set win over Shuai Peng on a Tuesday afternoon.

The American had trouble holding serve in the first set, going down 3-6. The second and third sets where a different story however, as she took command of the match. She cruised to 6-1 in the second and never looked back, taking the match 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Williams awaits the winner of top seed Angelique Kerber and Elena Vesnina.
