Muguruza, Del Potro, Kyrgios, Dimitrov Advance in Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, Calif -- On a Sunday afternoon, Garbine Muguruza, Juan Martin Del Potro, Nick Kyrgios, and Grigor Dimitrov advanced to their respective next rounds at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

French Open champ Garbine Muguruza came from a set down to win the match over teenage sensation Kayla Day. The 17-year-old went up 5-1 in the first set but Muguruza got one of the breaks back. Day was able to win the first set 6-3.

Both players held serve in the second set until Muguruza broke in the 11th game to go up 6-5. That was enough to give her the set 7-5. Experience then came into play as the seventh seed cruised to take the match 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Muguruza next faces Svitolina, who defeated Daria Gavrilova 6-2, 6-1.

Del Potro defeated Federico Delbonis in a tight two-setter 7-6(5), 6-3. The 2009 U.S.Open champ next faces the winner of Novak Djokovic and Kyle Edmund.

Kyrgios beat Horacio Zeballos in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. The 21-year-old will battle with teenager Alexander Zverev, who took out Facundo Bagnis earlier.

Dimitrov went past Mikhail Youzhny in a convincing 6-4, 6-0 win. The Bulgarian playes the winner of Jack Sock and Henri Laaksonen.

Del Potro, Djokovic, Zverev, Kyrgios, Federer, and Nadal are all in the bottom quarter which has been dubbed the 'Quarter of Death."
