Konta Rallies from Behind to Book a Spot in the Semis in Miami

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- Not willing to concede, Johanna Konta came from a set down against No. 3 seed Simona Halep to book herself a spot in the semifinals of the Miami Open on Wednesday afternoon.

Konta was broken twice in the first set as Halep raced to a 6-3 first set win. In the second set at 5-4, Halep had an opportunity to serve for the match but was broken to level the set 5-5. The set was sent to a tiebreak where Konta capitalized on the third set point, sending the match to the third set.

In the third set at 2-2, the Brit won the next four game, wrapping up the match 3-6, 7-6(7), 6-2.

Konta joins No. 2 seed Karolina Pliskova and Caroline Wozniacki, who advanced to the semis yestersday. She now awaits the winner of Angelique Kerber and Venus Williams.
