Sloane Stephens is back on her feet and hitting the court for practice for the first time since undergoing foot surgery in January due to a stress fracture in her left foot. The 23-year-old has not played a match since the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. Stephens told us that she is aiming for a return in time for Wimbledon.
To avoid putting full pressure on her foot, Stephens has used creative techniques to get back on court and practicing her form.
Stephens took a big step (literally) on her road to recovery earlier this month when she was able to walk on both feet for the first time since surgery.
Tennis Channel caught up with Stephens in February on Tennis Channel Live where she detailed the timeline of her injury and rehab and spoke of an anticipated return at Wimbledon.
