Last week Nicole Gibbs, one of the stars of My Tennis Life, announced she was taking a break from tennis to rehab and get ready for Roland Garros and the remainder of the tennis season.
While recovering, Nicole plans to use most of her downtime making the best of the situation by learning how to cook healthy foods in her new town home that she and her boyfriend Jack recently purchased.
"I plan to spend much of my downtime finding ways to optimize my recovery, reading, and learning how to cook in my new home," wrote Nicole in her latest blog.
Here is a snapshot of how her recovery is coming along:
Since she can only do non impact physical training until she gets the go-ahead from her doctor, Nicole has been putting in a lot of beach walks.

This week she got some exercise by walking in a public park. Because she's not allowed to walk downhill to avoid aggravating her knee joint, she had to walk backwards when coming downhill.
A fan of Chipotle, Nicole will forego it and some of her other favorite restaurants in the meantime in order to adhere to her strict diet aimed at reducing inflammation in her body and also improving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which involves a lot of home cooking:
