My Tennis Life star Nicole Gibbs, who's playing her first tournament since announcing she was taking a break from tennis to rehab her knee and wrist injuries, gave us a social update from Cagnes-Sur-Mer. She's playing at the $100,000 Cagnes-Sur-Mer, an ITF pro tournament in the French Riviera.
Despite a 15-hour flight in economy, Gibbs managed to get some sleep on the flight, a skill she has developed over time. While at Cagnes-Sur-Mer, she's staying at an Airbnb, which has the gorgeous French Riviera as its backdrop.
It seems things turned out well in the end as Gibbs was worried about venturing away from tournament endorsed hotels. The rental, which costs $160/night, has two bedrooms, a pool in the backyard and full kitchen, which is enough to house her team.
The tournament, which boasts a strong field that includes Heather Watson and Carina Witthoeft, kicks off next week.
