I am a professional tennis player, and I am just starting my fourth full year on the WTA tour. Life on the road definitely has its ups and downs, and now, thanks to Tennis Channel, I’m going to be sharing all of that with you. My Tennis Life is a new series that will give you a never-before-seen behind the scenes look at life on tour the good, the bad, and the ugly. From players lounges at tournaments to travel nightmares to media commitments and hours spent on the practice court, I hope to give you a thorough understanding of what it means to be a professional athlete.

Self-described as feisty, Nicole Gibbs is a professional American tennis player who grew up in Cleveland and calls Venice Beach home. She was introduced to tennis by her father, Paul, who had her hitting in the driveway over two trashcans with a board across the top when she was just 2 or 3 years old. Gibbs pursued tennis at the junior level through high school and went on to play for Stanford University. Gibbs studied Economics at Stanford from 2010-2013 where she secured multiple NCAA titles. At Wimbledon 2013, Gibbs officially began her journey as a professional player. Aside from tennis, she enjoys surfing, yoga, running, and giving back to the community.
