Blog: Sam Groth Lost a Heart-Breaker but Overall Feels Good

Hi everyone!

After a good build-up in the challengers leading up to Wimbledon qualies, I lost a heart-breaker to Italian Simone Bolleli 11-9 in the third set. It was disappointing to lose after such a good prep, but I played quite a good match. Overall, it was a good performance where I was just beaten by a better player.

So now I'm preparing for doubles once again with Rob Lindstedt. We take on the team of Duran/Molteni on either Wednesday or Thursday.

It's always so nice being back at Wimbledon. In my opinion, the grounds are the most immaculate of all the Grand Slams and there is a different feeling here you don't find anywhere else.

After Wimbledon it will be back to the US. I'm working on a schedule with my coach, Billy, but that is forever changing as rankings move and different tournament options become available. I'll make sure everyone knows my plans but for now, fingers crossed for a big couple of weeks in doubles!
