Patrick Wilson is the senior vice president, distribution, Tennis Channel. Wilson is based in the network’s Los Angeles headquarters, and reports to both Ken Solomon, chairman and CEO, as well as Bill Simon, COO and CFO.
Since joining Tennis Channel in 2009, Wilson has utilized his extensive cable-television senior management experience to focus on successfully moving the company from sports-tier deals to broader distribution – a structural, positioning and equity-building change from how Tennis Channel did business prior to his arrival. Wilson negotiates multimillion dollar affiliation agreements with major distributors, increasing the company’s subscriber base by 25 percent and distribution revenues by nearly 70 percent during his tenure. Wilson also leads the company’s digital distribution negotiations, having secured deals with Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV for carriage and selling of the company’s TV Everywhere and TC Plus services.
Wilson previously spent seven years with Lifetime Networks, where he negotiated multimillion dollar affiliation agreements with major distributors and developed initial video-on-demand (VOD) services. Before this he was vice president, affiliate relations, west, for E! Entertainment Television and drove sales distribution, marketing and local ad sales for two national cable networks, E! and Style. Prior to E! he directed nationwide sales for FX and Fox Movie Network as senior vice president of affiliate sales and marketing, after having led sales and marketing teams at both The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon/MTV Networks.
