I was very displeased with the majority of the announcers chosen for this open with the exception of: Martina, Roy Emerson, Bud Collins and forgive me for forgetting her name, the lady who won so many doubles championships.
The other announcers, Bill Macatee, Justin and I belive one more male announcer did not represent the quality of tennis. They were too commercial and did not allow sufficient good commentary by the professional tennis player annoucers. I particulary disliked the use of over exagerated phrases by Bill and Justin. Looking forward to your adding Jimmy Connors, keep Martina, she did an outstanding job, keep and expand Roy Emerson, Bud and the lady whose name I can't recall, but who has proven and shown her expertise over the years in announcing great tennis matches.
I agree. Martina did a great job of telling it like it is. She said what I was thinking. While I never heard her come out in favor of any player she was fair and honest in her comments.
I agree with the previous two comments...martina gets a little chatty, but has good insights and is not partisian in her commentary very often. I like pam shrivers, objective and intelligent commentaries...shes off to a good start as the new fed cup captain as well. Chris Fowler is another great commentator. I would love to see pam shriver and mary carilo pulled from covering any of the william girls matches, both commentators are too bias against these future hall of fame champions. I hope Mr. Conners will not follow the unfortunate patterns of ms shriver and carilo when he comes on board.
