Sorry my friend as it appears like no channel is showing mens singles matches live. I dont understand why priority is given to doubles:-(. It's sad and stupid.I can understand your frustation as I am also a huge fan of mens tennis. I guess we dont have any option but to watch the matches live on some website:-(. Please reply if you find some channel is showing shanghai singles matches live.
As of today, the Tennis Channels lineup of tournaments they cover is showing next week's Masters Cup as one of them. But it still says there is no information on times. I'll keep checking there, as well as at Tennis.com and let you know if I find anything out. I can't beleive we are the only two who seem to care about this. Of others do, and would say so, maybe men's tennis would get more respect! Thanks for answering me.
Unfortunately, it appears the Fox Sports Net is covering the singles of the Tennis Masters Cup. From what I can tell, most of us in the northeast don't get this channel (at least not in New England). You can watch online at atpmastersseriestv.com, but they only show the matches live. With the time difference- you'll be watching at either 1am or 5 or 6am. I don't know about anyone else- but that doesn't work for me. (And yes, you would have to pay for that priviledge!)
Some spectators my not be aware. The Tennis Channel has no rights to view the Shanghai Master Mens Singles. ONLY the Shanghai Mens (Doubles) with a slight delay at times. Unfortunately if you want to see the Men Singles play live you have to tune in to (Fox Sports Net) if its available in your area. Otherwise you can view all ATP Master Series TV events online at http://www.atpmastersseries.tv LIVE (Shanghia time which is way too early).
The other reality is what I dislike the most about tennis, we won't be seeing any of Shanghai's Singles on the Tennis Channel.
I ALSO AM OUTRAGED ! LAST YEAR I SAW THE MENS SINGLES ON ESPN2 FOR FREE ON BASIC CABLE. NOW I PAY FOR TENNIS CHANNEL AND DO NOT EVEN GET TO WATCH IT ????????? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ! THE YEAR END BIGGEST EVENT FOR MENS TENNIS. AT LEAST THIS SHOULD BE ON PAY PER VIEW, SO I COULD WATCH IT AL LEAST ON MY TV SET WHEN I WANTED .

Fox Sports Net is suppossed to be covering singles matches, but I am not getting this channel here in U.S:-(. The moment I have taken cable connection, I subscribed for TennisChannel hoping that I wouldn't miss even a single live ATP match, but TennisChannel hugely dissappointed me. I bought tournament pass for the shanghai masters from atpmastersseries.tv and enjoying all the live coverage of singles matches from shanghai. TennisChannel team should learn that people are subscribing to their channel so that they can enjoy huge events sitting right in their homes. It's not plesant on their part not to cover the singles matches of year end championship...I dont care to complain if it is a tier-2 mens tournament and if these guys dont show the matches, but for god's sake this is YEAR-END CHAMPIONSHIP and next to grandslams and they can't miss this...shame on tennischannel for disaapointing customers like us.
Please people. TC just carried a full week of the womens year end championships in doha are carrying the shanghai doubles and just got done airing full week masters series events from madrid and paris and womens events from germany,zurich,moscow and austria! That is a ton of tennis. hundreds of hours! What else do you want? i can see that you would obviously like to see the mens singles as would i but fox sports has the rights. how is that tc fault? hope fully they can get the rights to the singles year end next year like they got them for the women this year. you dont think they want to cover singles? come on. fox just paid alot more money and is in more homes so the atp prefers them or espn to cover this event.
WHAT ELSE DO WE WANT, Tennisann?! We want what we pay for! We don't shell out hundreds of dollars a year to hear pathetic excuses like FOX paid more and so they get the privilege of showing us matches hours after they've already ended. Because you know what, NO ONE is watching this on Fox, and from the responses of the people here, it's not available in as many homes as you'd like us to believe. If this is TENNIS channel, why on earth don't they fight to show the actual sport that they've named themselves after? What is it that they want to do next year? Show the year end curling championships?
Tennis Channel had me increasing my hopes when they were able to snag rights to early rounds of some of the grand slams.
I know ESPN had been broadcasting LIVE the singles matches of the Masters in Shanghai the past number of years. I think I remember that the Tennis Channel would then rebroadcast the coverage in the evening.
I live in NYC and here we get tape delayed coverage in the afternoons of the singles matches on MSN+.
Here is my problem- yes, some enjoy watching the tape delayed coverage in the afternoons or evenings, as it does not cause us to get up at 5 am to watch the matches live. However, I am going to go ahead and assume that if you are a subscriber to the Tennis Channel, you are a tennis fanatic (atleast a majority of us are.) Otherwise you would be just as content catching the grand slam coverages the big broadcasters show 4 times a year.
But not showing the Shanghai Masters singles matches live is just ridiculous! There are some of us who don't mind, even look forward to, getting up a few hours early for a week to watch the TOP EIGHT players in the world compete.(It's why I have been consistently late to work for 5 days in November of every year.) It's a bigger event than Grand Slams if you just merely take into account the quality of tennis.
This year I find myself checking match results in the morning and not even caring much to catch the tape delayed coverage later in the day.
I understand that other channels won over rights, and TC may have been outbidded or what not. My gripe is not just with TC. It's with ESPN and MSN+ and every other sports channel that missed out on a great opportunity like this, and causing us unfortunately to reap the loss.
I dont even get MSN in podunk NJ - so I cant even watch the Singles delayed-I am so pissed off at TTC, ESPN, and all the stoopid college sports channnels i have to absorb just to get TTC, and i NEVER watch them......................this country is a mess............
