I'm very disappointed in Tennis Channel's programming. There are far too many reruns. They cover the men's tour about 95% of time while consistently ignoring live WTA events. I don't agree that the women's game is boring. What is boring is seeing the same men's events repeated over and over again when we already know the outcome. Also, Tennis Channel promises coverage of live events such as Indian Wells and then gives us only a day or so of coverage in the early stages of the tournament. Then they abruptly stop broadcasting the tournament. We don't get to see the outcome of the tournament. The Tennis Channel needs more LIVE men's and WOMEN'S events. They will continue to be outdone by the likes of ESPN and Fox Sports if they don't increase their programming budget and give us new coverage instead of stale reruns day and night. The Tennis Channel looks cheap and amateurish in comparison to ESPN and Fox Sports.

The Few Failures of Nadal Week on TTC?

Hmmmm. It's very interesting. Rafa Nadal has just simply dominated tennis lately and TTC is feeding us a highlight reel of his losses?!? This coming after he has captured the first Slam of the year as well as the first Masters? This week we're getting Rome '08, Madrid '08, and another loss tomorrow. How about a replay of ANY one of his IW matches instead?

For those of you out there who haven't noticed the lack of WTA coverage on TTC, here's my explanation why. TTC is holding a huge grudge and retaliating against WTA because they didn't follow their ill-thoughout lead in pulling out of Dubuai. This is where the hypocrisy comes in. TTC claimed they were so noble as to stand up for Shahar Peer being discriminated against in Dubuai. This is just fine and dandy for TTC if that's what they want to do but don't take it out on the other WTA players by not showing them anymore on your channel. TTC is doing the same thing they accused the people in Dubuai of doing. My case and point, in the current tournament in Miami, TTC finds air time for the men but not the women (even delayed programs!). It is obvious that TTC didn't catch Mr. Scott's vision for the future in combining the ATP & WTA. Maybe I can be of some assistance to you...THERE ARE AS MANY OR MORE PEOPLE WANTING TO SEE THE PLAYERS IN THE WTA AS THE ATP OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to the coverage of Indian Wells? Why did I pay comcast for the Tennis Channel if you don't show current matches? Am I the only one who does not care to see classis tennis when I could be watching the current matches? I know FSS showed some matches, like 2 hours a night, and no women,double or mixed double matches. If there is no coversge of the Miami matches consider 1 lost subscriber!!

Racquet Bracket Winners

Nedal's wedgies

With all the honors of being #1 in the world, Nedal must have image professionals watching out for him...or does he? I cannot help but be annoyed at his constant picking of his butt. It is easy to see through his shorts that he obviously prefers the "bikini" style underwear. Though they may be athletic, fitted, and very expensive...they apparently creep and ride up to the point that after every volley, he must go digging to retrieve his undies. Can someone within Nedal's circle give him some practical advice on which briefs/jockeys should eliminate his discomfort? ...I believe that tennis fans like myself would be grateful.

Martina Navratilova & justin Gimelstob

Ever since I watched my first tennis match in full of the US Open 2006 on cbs, I became an instant avid tennis fan. I didn't know much about it but learned pretty quickly how it works. Hence, I want to know everything about tennis.

I heard that there was a Davis Cup on October'06 during Roddick/Youzney's USO Semi, so I immediately looked for station on my TV that would air those matches. Low & behold, I stumbled on The Tennis Channel but unfortunately, it was not part of my cable package. I have to pay extra to add TTC to my subscription.

But through out the 3 years I've subscribed, I find that I'm being short change. I mean this IS a TENNIS channel, yet it lacked important matches and "open access" has yet to get newer interviews from players (still re-airing OLD interviews), "center court" is gone and so fort. It's nice to have a re-airing of recent matches but the station got stuck on "Re-Runs".

All of these I have tolerated because of my passion for Tennis. However, the recent hiring of Martina & Justin are like the last nail to the coffin.

Please let it be clear that I mean no disrespect to either Martin or Justin. I'm sure they're great people. But c'mon, you can't just hire someone just because they know or are great tennis players from the past. People have to sound appealing & actually have a knack at commentating matches. I'm sorry, but this is NOT their field of work. They just don't belong in the commentary booth.

Martina's sweet but her monotone and dry voice is irritating. I was force to watch the match in "mute". And Justin is the complete opposite, he's tone is all over the place and his comments are far too reaching, his commentating is just annoying. Suffice to say, that they listened/watched ESPN commentators and tried to immitate their qoutes & know-hows about the matches/players.

TTC, kindly, please consider hiring different commentators, bring back Bary McKay or someone, they don't have to be the best, but just not these two. You're about to air Grandslam events so you have to get a better people on your comment booth.

Again, I want to apologize if I hurt Martina or Justin with my comments. I'm just being upfront with my thoughts and I wasn't alone, my friends felt juast as annoyed.

Please stick to what you do best and don't insist on a field you don't have a knack on.

Justin can probably do a sideline or behind the scene interviews, but just not during the match. It's distracting.

I am so disappointed in you for not showing more of the BNP Paribas tennis tournament.

Everyone is there, with the exception of the Williams Sisters. They are making things harder on themselves.

I thought this was the reason to have a tennis channel. I am not planning to watch the classics, or Murphy or Hewitt.

I am a long time fan of the Tennis Channel and a tennis addict ..... please no more Justin Gimelstob. I can't stand to look at him now that I know what he really thinks. You can do better and he doesn't deserve an on air job with the Tennis Channel, I think he lost that privilege.

Fox Sports had committed to the rights to these tourneyments before Tennis channel moved to the forefront of coverage. We have to suffer with FSN and guys like Jason Gimblestob for a bit more......plus the coverage stinks on FSN as you get cut off in a final set with shows like flyfishing and yet another poker tourneyment. My question is "when will the contracts with Indian wells and Sony ericsson end with FSN so Tennis channel can get the entire tourneyment and we won't be forced to watch a Fed-nadal final in NY until after 10pm in the east 6 hour tape delay no less because of MSG's commitment to 3 hockey teams (that all stink by the way anyway) or another prepaid poker tourneyment. MSG doesn't care, we know that here in NY, but Tennis Channel, Please get these big USA based tourneys!! You're doing great work otherwise.

Time to watch the other side of Leyton Hewitt........again. How many sides does he have already??? LOL

I don't know why they didn't think of this already, but when I turn on the TV and there's a past match on, it would be nice if they put an ocassional graphic up letting me know what it is I'm watching so I have some kind of context - last week? last month? last year? Isn't it obvious a viewer would want to know this?

i cant take it anymore. murphy jensen is the biggest cheeseball ever. the show is absolutely retarded and just cuts in to actually getting to watch some tennis. besides in real life the dude is a jerk and cares about nothing. lets show some more tennis. dont show the old matches if there is a tournament goin on.

Why am I watching a replay of this morning's quarterfinal match between Bryan/Bryan and Fish/Isner when there is a live semifinal match between Bhupathi/Knowles and Kubot/Marach? This makes no sense. By the way, the Bryans win, 7-5, 7-6 (6).

Tennis Channel cancels coverage of WTA Dubai

I just read that The Tennis Channel canceled its coverage of the WTA tournament in Dubai over the decision not to grant an entry visa to an Israeli player Peer.

I think that's a gutsy and noble move by The Tennis Channel. KUDOS to The Tennis Channel!! Now, will the WTA and the ATP show the same integrity and cancel future tournaments in Dubai?

I am currently watching Serena Williams play Meng Yuan in the Aussie Open, and I must say that the commentators are awful. If their goal is to put people to sleep, then they're succeeding. Their commentary is dreadfully boring and dry. It seems as if they have no emotion whatsoever. The female commentator seems a little bit better than the male one, but not by much. Their attempts at jokes are simply pitiful and far from funny. Could you please hire some more interesting people to be commentators? The ESPN commentators (i.e. Patrick McEnroe, Mary Carillo, etc) are so much better. They have insightful and interesting comments about the players. They also actually sound excited sometimes.

Another issue I have: the male commentator during the Williams match made a rather awkward comment. He said something along the lines of "Readers of Men's Health magazine voted Serena Williams one of the sexiest women in world sports", which is okay, but then he said something like "and we can certainly see why that is true". I might not have the exact wording correct, but that was the gist of what he said. Basically, it just seems kind of inappropriate.

Please fire Justin Gimlestob! He is the worst announcer we have heard so far. He wasn't even a good player. He tried to play on tour for about 15 years and only broke into the top 100 two times. Why should we listen to what he has to say. He was a challenger player who's highest ranking was like 70. We can't stand his voice and why is he trying to sound so intelligent? I am a member of a tennis club and team and we all have the tennis channel and we are thinking about canceling our membership because of him. The things he said about women on tour are outrageous! we do not condone these actions, so if things do not change in the next month we will cancel about 300 memberships! we have all agreed to this. You should really consider having someone else take his place, someone with a much better reputation and personality! Thanks again, Diane
